The City of Simi Valley is located in the southeast part of Ventura County, adjacent to the northwestern perimeter of the San Fernando Valley, approximately 37 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles with an estimated population of 126,291 (as of December 2008). It makes it the third largest city in Ventura County. Simi Valley is home of the Ronald Regan Library and Museum (Air Force One), famous movies filming from “Cat In the Hat” to the 1982 movie, “Poltergeist”. Simi Valley rest is some or the most beautiful mountain ranges in the county, and is known for its breath taking sunsets.
The Climate for tends to be a little hotter in Simi Valley due to the fact that it is more inland closer to the San Fernando Valley. The temperatures tend to range in the summer from the high 70′s up to 106. The ideal time of year would be autumn just as the winter season is dying off. Winter temperatures range from 60′s to possible mid 80′s. Santa Ana winds rush through the area for a couple of days around November, this makes the transition from summer to winter gradual and quite comforting.

Simi Valley has over 30 schools, 21 ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS, 3 MIDDLE SCHOOLS, 3 HIGH SCHOOLS, 1 continuation school, 1 adult education school, and 1 independent study school. All three High Schools are California Distinguished Blue Ribbon Schools, And have an excellent curriculum and athletic programs. Two out of the three High Schools compete in the competitive Marmonte League.
Parks and Recreation
Simi Valley is home to the Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District consists of 52 parks, community centers, and museums. One of the most popular sites to visit is the Ronald Regan Presidential Library.
